The starting point of the tour is the mighty dam wall. Just walking over the top (please push your bike) gives you an impression of the dimensions. 40 meters high, 650 meters long and more than 100 years old! And the view to the left of the lake and to the right of the compensating pond makes you want more.

The municipality of Möhnesee is largely located in the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park, whose varied nature is not only worth seeing but also worth protecting. The tour leads straight into the Hevesee and Hevesee nature reserve, home to many water birds and also a migration and wintering area for up to 10,000 birds every year. On the Heve peninsula, three nature balconies offer a view of the landscape and its inhabitants. In addition, the information stations on the Water and Forest Nature Promenade along the 3.6 km long riverside path provide information about the flora, fauna and history of the region.
Cross the Delecke bridge to return to the dam wall.

In Delecke, the public bathing area with sunbathing lawn invites you to cool off. And if you are still missing a photo opportunity at the dam wall, head down to the compensation pond and see the imposing structure in all its glory from there. Along the way, we pass the Landscape Information Center (LIZ) in Günne, where you can find comprehensive information about the Möhnesee Dam and the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park.

The tour can be made even more varied if you include a trip on the MS Möhnesee (April - October), as we pass the three landing stages of the catamaran on this cycle tour. Bicycle transportation is free of charge. There are various places to stop for refreshments along the route.

Information

Directions

We start the tour at the dam wall. After pushing the bike over the crest and enjoying the view, we cycle along the south side of the lake. The Hevearm and Hevesee nature reserve is on the left. We cross the Heve dam. Now we cycle along the shore of the Heve peninsula, passing the stations of the Water and Forest Nature Promenade and the viewing balconies. We cross the Delecke Bridge and return to the north side. At the traffic circle, turn left and head back to the dam wall, passing the lido and perhaps including a quick dip. The boat moorings are at the dam wall, on the banks of the Heve peninsula and on the north side of the Delecke bridge, so that a boat trip can be optimally incorporated into this tour.junctions: 75-74-73-71-75
