Various bus routes from Soest and Arnsberg to Möhnesee make it easy for you to travel by public transport.

Soest railroad station

Soest train station is served by the following train lines:

- Hamm - Soest - direction Kassel

- Kassel - Warburg - Altenbeken - Paderborn - Soest - direction Hamm

- (RB 59 - Hellweg-Bahn) Dortmund - Unna - Soest

- (RB 59 - Hellweg-Bahn) Soest - Unna - Dortmund

The R49 line runs regularly from Soest station to Körbecke, which is located directly on the lake. Please pay attention to the indicated destination when boarding in Soest, as the R49 is a connection between Möhnesee, Soest and Bad Sassendorf. From the Bahnhof-Brüdertor stop in Soest, line C4 goes to the district of Günne on the Möhnesee.

Arnsberg (Westf.) station:

Arnsberg station is served by the following train lines:

- (Obere Ruhrtal-Bahn) Hagen - Bestwig - Warburg

- (Upper Ruhrtal Railway) Warburg - Bestwig - Hagen

- Dortmund - Bestwig - Winterberg/Brilon Wald-Brilon Stadt

- Winterberg/Brilon Wald-Brilon Stadt - Bestwig - Dortmund

From Arnsberg station, line 548 runs every 2 hours on weekdays to the south bank of the Möhnesee, Stockum and Körbecke "Seestraße". A minibus is occasionally used on this line. The journey time from Arnsberg to the Möhnesee is around 25 minutes.

Bicycle bus:

From the end of April to October 3rd, RLG bicycle buses run on five regional routes on all Sundays and public holidays. These buses with special bicycle trailers offer space for a total of 16 bicycles. You can get on or off at any stop along the route. The bikes in the trailer travel free of charge.

All Westphalia fare tickets are valid for passengers on the bicycle bus. The 9 o'clock day ticket, which is valid as a single ticket for one adult including three children or as a group ticket for up to five people, is a particularly good value ticket. The ticket can be used for both the outward and return journey. You will receive your ticket directly on the bus.
