The small village of Hewingsen with a population of around 220 is located at the foothills of the Haarstrang.
The small Marienkapelle, which was built in 1948 and dedicated to the "Immaculate Conception of Mary", is particularly worth seeing. The eight new chapel windows with their artistic stained glass depict the most important stations of the Mother of God.
Popular places for meetings and celebrations are the Schützenhalle of the Schützenbruderschaft St. Hubertus and the village square. These include shooting festivals, Harvest Festival, May Festival, Advent celebrations and many more.
